This book is a book of poetry about what I
see as problems or issues in the Black Community. I
hope that these poems will make you think and
hopefully talk to others.
It's time for us as a community to come together and rebuild our familyand fix the ills that affect us. We can't wait on some
one else to do it for us. Let's stop pointing fingers
and start working to a better community. I know we
can do it.
This book is inspired by a variety of issues and situations. I am inspired by my work online and my work coaching children ( Did I mention the fact that I won the 2009 Hillside Rec League Basketball Championship )
It is inspired by my dealings in politics for the past few years. I ran for Board of education in 2008 and town council in 2009. I lost both races but I learned a lot about people and race relations.
It is inspired by simple everyday goings on. It is inspired by living with my daughter Brittany and my wife Quanda
It is inspired by the election of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States. One of the few times I have ever cried as an adult. The other two being the birth of my daughter and the NY Giants Super Bowl loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Last but not least it is inspired by my parents who thankfully are both still alive to read this.
Now, Let me stop running my mouth. Come on Black America "Let's Talk Honestly"
